Is Beyonce's Vegan Detox Diet the Best Way to Lose Weight Before Christmas?

Excerpt:
They've got 99 problems - but meat ain't one as Jay-Z and Beyoncé are trying a 22-day vegan challenge in a bid to get healthy before Christmas.

Explaining the diet change, the rapper posted on his website Life and Times that he wanted a 'spiritual and physical cleanse', kick started by turning 44 in December.

The million dollar power couple are sticking to a 'plant-based' diet and cutting out processed foods and meat - but will stop in time to stuff their faces on a Christmas day feast.

We know what you're thinking - what's the point in food without sugar, meat and fat? But let chef Beyoncé change your mind...

Detox: Day One

Excerpt:
I told you I'd be documenting the journey that is my detox. Check out how day one went!

9:12am
No coffee this morning. I can only pray that the tiny little green tea bag that I drank this morning had enough caffeine to stave off any debilitating headaches for the day.

I also walked into the office this morning to find, on the communal kitchen table, a tray of cookies. 'Tis the season, I guess, but thanks a lot for the temptation, team!

Time for my breakfast smoothie. I'm sipping slowly to make it last as long as possible...

Detox and Cleanse: Healthy or Not?

Excerpt:
Detox has certainly become quite a buzzword as of late. Many people are using various programs from the Master Cleanse (water, cayenne pepper, lemon juice, maple syrup) to colonic cleansers with the hopes of improving digestion and ridding the body of harmful toxic chemicals. One would think that all these programs provide something to the body that it is currently lacking. Not so. The liver and kidneys are the body’s own detoxification organs and their job over millions of years has been to rid the body of wasteful chemicals and ingested toxins. When the kidneys and liver are functioning at their best, they do an incredible job of detoxifying the body. These organs, when not inhibited by processed and junk food (more on that later), are working every second of the day to naturally cleanse the body. So before you sign up for a cleanse or detox program, consider how you could improve the natural detoxification system your body already has.

Detox Soup for the Soul (& Body)

Excerpt:
Having emerged from our food comas the word detox is probably the most commonly uttered word around the office right now. Green juices are total garbage around this time of the year, we need something warming (and filling) so we’re all about these soups. Slurp up and slim down.

A Beginners Guide to a Healthy Weekend Detox

Excerpt:
It seems like every few weeks we hear about some celebrity who went on a juice cleanse or cookie diet and dropped 10 pounds while feeling great. These stories are usually bogus, but there is a kernel of good advice hidden beneath the marketing-speak.

With our hectic schedules and sub-optimal nutritional intake, we can start feeling run down, fat, and just overall gross. It’s good to take some control back over our schedules and our bodies and engage in a weekend detox. Now, let’s be clear, this is not a fast or a crash diet, the weekend detox is about checking in with yourself and giving your body the time and tools it needs to heal itself.

No Alcohol In this Bar–Just Pure, Organic Veggies

Excerpt:
There’s a bar at Eastwood, Quezon City, that’s frequented by today’s hottest celebrities and personalities. It’s so popular that the joint gets orders from as far away as Las Piñas. But before you get any ideas, this place does not serve alcohol.

Detoxify Bar (2/F Techno Plaza 2, Eastwood City, Libis, QC) is only three months old, but the all-organic juice bar has been drawing health buffs and wannabe health buffs. It’s easy to see why.

While “detox” has become the catchphrase of the year, intriguing even the most stubborn meat-eater, its meaning is lost on many consumers—especially given the many products with spurious claims.

The owners of Detoxify Bar aim to educate customers, through classroom-trained, knowledgeable staff.

Their efforts are paying off.

10 Ways to Detoxify Your Body

Excerpt:
Feeling sluggish or out of sync? Struggling with skin problems, aches and pains, or digestive problems? Can't seem to lose weight? It might be time for a body detox.

Practiced for centuries by cultures around the world — including ayurvedic and Chinese medicine systems — detoxification is about resting, cleaning and nourishing the body from the inside out. By removing and eliminating toxins, then feeding your body with healthy nutrients, detoxifying can help protect you from disease and renew your ability to maintain optimum health.

How does detoxification work?
Basically, detoxification means cleaning the blood. This is done by removing impurities from the blood in the liver, where toxins are processed for elimination. The body also eliminates toxins through the kidneys, intestines, lungs, lymph and skin. However, when this system is compromised, impurities aren't properly filtered and every cell in the body is adversely affected.

Breaking the Sugar Habit: 4 Simple Strategies

Excerpt:
One of the most common issues my clients reveal to me is this: “I am a sugar addict.”

Why is it so challenging to curb our sugar-use? The answer may be found by taking a closer look at our biology.

Our Biology
In a 2007 study (1), researchers found that given the choice between sugar-water and cocaine, rats chose sugar water every time. It doesn’t matter whether this sugar is natural, like an apple, or artificial, like saccharin. Astonishingly, when researchers increased the concentration of cocaine, the rats still chose more sugar-water.

What conclusion can we draw from this?

We are hypersensitive to sugar.

Weekly Challenge: 7-Day Detox Plan

Excerpt:
Mim Beim shares how to recharge your system with her express detox meal plan.

Detoxing can do more than make your eyes sparkle and your skin glow – it can boost energy levels, improve digestion and help shift a few unwanted kilos too.

While it may look like a fad diet – no grains, no alcohol, no milk, no sugar (and no fun) – a detox is far from a quick fix for weight loss. The purpose of any detox plan is to take the load off the organs that detoxify the body – the liver, kidneys and bowel – while at the same time supporting and improving their performance. If you want to fast track your health, give your body a break, or just want to detox diet for a short time, follow this safe and do-able seven-day program.

Bec's 7 Day Juice Detox

Excerpt:
I just want to say firstly, while I naturally lost weight during this, I didn't do it specifically for weight loss. This was about cleansing my insides. If you don't already know, I am studying Naturopathy, and strongly believe in the healing powers of nature over chemical based pharmaceuticals. However, I had a pretty bad bacterial infection a couple of months ago and had to be on an extremely strong dose of antibiotics. I'm talking, one of the strongest antibiotics there is, 2000mg a day for 3 weeks. Because antibiotics kills all your bad AND your good bacteria, my immune system was left extremely weak and fragile. I jumped onto the probiotics straight away, but my immunity didn't build up in time, and I got a viral infection and pharyngitis over Christmas. Now, being a singer and performer, getting sick just isn't an option for me, because regardless, I have to perform my shows once they're booked. That's the tough life of showbiz. So I have a home call doctor come out on Boxing Day to check me out and prescribe me antibiotics so that I would have time to recover before my NYE show. Another 2 week course of a strong antibiotic, 2000mg a day. My immune system just hasn't been the same since, so I decided I really needed to do a detox before I go back to full time study and give my body a little head start in the healing process. My housemate Bonnie said she'd do the juice detox with me so I was super excited not to have to do it alone, because lets face it, I would have probably given into temptation had I done it alone.

To Detox or Not to Detox

http://www.theholykale.com
Excerpt:
Being the proud owner of a juicer and having watched several relevant documentaries, the idea of body detoxification is quite alluring. To be able to have the satisfaction of starting over with a clean slate, evicting all of those toxins that our modern lifestyle has invaded our cells with, and feeling anew with energy… Where do I sign up?!

Around the time where I want to run out and buy a thousand pounds of vegetables, one part of my brain kicks in; that pesky little guy who has taken several biology/anatomy classes and reads nutritionally related scientific things for FUN says, “What is the mechanism for detoxification?” Then the alternative-loving side of my noggin rebuts, “Must there always be a mechanism? You sound like a reductionist.”

How to Detox (the Whole Body) - in 30 Days

Excerpt:
Why did I go on a detox?

I made a choice (recommended by my doctor – Dr. Thalia) to get my shit together. Here’s what it was all about:

I work lots and carry stress in my belly. While some people get tight shoulders, I get a blown-up “air baby” bloated stomach, that doesn’t feel so awesome. It impacts how I feel, my energy, productivity, and bottom line, EVERYTHING else. So, Dr. Thalia ran some blood work and stool samples on me (ew I know, but it was really insightful). Then she suggested a very clear elimination diet (similar to the foods you can eat during the Cleanse Week #2 in our Eat Real Essentials ebook). The goal was to remove foods that may possibly be irritating my digestive tract and slowly add certain foods back in to see how my body reacts.

Detox Your Thanksgiving: Kale Salad with Roasted Peppers and Garlic Avocado Cream

Excerpt:
I love cooking over the holidays but truly have no desire to stuff myself with turkey (or even tofurkey or that matter). I’m not opposed to treats but the heaviest things I indulge in this time of year usually look something like raw vegan pie or lots of roasted root vegetables. Years past have seen several “Living Thanksgivings” where it was just us, some friends, a cat and a raw vegan feast. If I know I’ll be going to someones house or to an event I always bring a giant salad with a crazy-good sauce for sharing. This also ensures I have something that won’t leave me weighed down, feeling blah, and promising myself a New Years “cleanse”. I’m all for cleansing but detoxing and re-toxing is just exhausting!

The Duchess arrived at the Soukya International Holistic Health Centre in Bangalore on Thursday with a small group of friends and her bodyguards ahead of an official tour of India with Prince Charles.

Lemon Detox Diet: Weight Loss or Health?

Excerpt:
The lemon detox diet, also known as the Master Cleanse diet, isn’t a new addition to the world of dietary trends.

In fact, this method of detoxifying the body has been around for more than 50 years in one variation or another, but was made mainstream once celebrities like Beyonce started talking about its benefits.

The lemon detox diet isn’t an everyday kind of program.

The goal is to take 10 to 14 days to “flush” your body of toxins, limiting your intake to only a special mixture of fresh lemon juice, pure maple syrup, cayenne pepper and water, as well as the intake of laxatives.

The premise behind this liquid fast is the acidity of the lemons promotes the liver and the gallbladder to free themselves of toxins, boosting metabolism and circulation naturally, and giving the intestinal tract a rest period.

7 Ways to Detox to Reverse Prediabetes

Excerpt:
Prediabetes is a worldwide epidemic. In the United States alone it affects 79 million people, or one in three adults and nearly one in four adolescents. Prediabetes is characterized by high levels of blood sugar and insulin and it increases the risk of five of the seven leading causes of death in the U.S.: heart disease, cancer, stroke, Alzheimer's disease and Type 2 diabetes.

Fortunately, the condition is reversible and personal changes are the best prescription. A landmark study published in the New England Journal of Medicine found that changes in diet and lifestyle reduced the risk of diabetes almost twice as much as the diabetes drug Glucophage, and that the benefits were still apparent a decade later. While diet changes and exercise are essential, there's another piece to the puzzle. Now that research studies have linked toxic chemicals in the environment to an increased risk of developing diabetes, it's time to recognize detoxification as an important part of permanently reversing prediabetes.

Naturally Detox Your Body With These Six Power Foods

Excerpt:
There are all kinds of intense detoxification protocols out there that can help cleanse the colon, blood, liver, and other bodily organs and systems of toxic materials. But sometimes the easiest and most effective way to keep your body maintained and in check is to simply incorporate more cleansing foods into your everyday diet. Here are six “power” foods with known detox benefits that may help you and your family steer clear of chronic pain, disease, and other toxin-induced health conditions:

1) Garlic. This simple bulb is prized in the culinary world for its pungent and robust flavor, but it is also one of the most powerful detox foods you can eat. Most notably, garlic supports the healthy production of digestive enzymes in the liver, and is a key component in the body’s manufacturing of glutathione, a nutrient that Dr. Mark Hyman, M.D., refers to as “the mother of all antioxidants.” Garlic also aids in the production of various sulfur compounds and bio-active selenium, two more nutrients that are critical in the detoxification process.

Nicky Park: A Taste of the Latest One-Day Detox (+WIN)

Goodness knows my body deserves a little TLC from time to time. While I'm mostly good to myself, I tend to have the wholesome buzz Monday to Thursday then by COB Friday I slide in to a world of wine and canapes. Put Down The Juice: Whole-Food Cleanses That Won't Make You A Maniac

Excerpt:
There are three things you should never bring up at a party: religion, politics, and juice cleansing. There is no more divisive topic on this earth — besides, maybe, Obamacare.

And, while we have plenty of juice fiends at R29 HQ, that doesn't mean we ignore the facts. Juice cleansing may have some merits (above all, it resets your food cravings), but most of the claims are questionable at best. Medical professionals point out that, though there's clearly nothing wrong with getting more fruit and vegetable nutrients into your diet, the process of juice cleansing robs you of some really important elements. Number one on that list? Fiber.  If you're looking to "clean out," fiber is mandatory.

Interview and Giveaway: The 21-Day Sugar Detox

Excerpt:
The biggest difference between The 21-Day Sugar Detox and Practical Paleo is that The 21-Day Sugar Detox is not inherently a Paleo nutrition program. Our current population has such an immense range of people eating what they think is healthy, but of course I’d disagree with most of them. With my experience and education as a holistic nutritionist, I recognize the real need to bridge the gap between what they are doing and a better way to do things.

I designed The 21-Day Sugar Detox to be more approachable than Paleo sometimes is for those people who are coming from eating lots of grains and refined foods. I don’t think people should just jump in; as I like to say, don’t be a hero. For example, The 21-Day Sugar Detox has 3 levels and level 1 includes gluten-free grains—it is a limited portion: things like rice, quinoa, and beans, which, of course is not included if you want to eat Paleo. But, if you are somebody who is eating Twinkies, drinking soda, and eating Hungry Man dinners filled with preservatives, then changing to a half a cup of brown rice in a day is an extremely important switch to make.

Detoxing with Water: Tips and Health Benefits

Water is vital for any form of life — our bodies are made up of about 60 percent of the liquid, and without it, we can’t survive. But as crucial as water is for staying hydrated and whatnot, it’s also helpful in flushing out toxins and detoxing our bodies.

Water fasting has been a religious practice for centuries, as it has been considered to not just cleanse the body, but the soul as well. The Ancient Romans and Egyptians, Greek philosophers, Biblical characters, and even Mahatma Gandhi are all known to have practiced water fasting to improve their health and well-beings. Today, water fasting is still a common practice, although its approached with much more caution since it is a rigorous form of cleansing.

4 Details to Design Your Detox

Excerpt:
You may have gone to your local natural foods store and bought a detox in a box. It may have even been a great program that really made you feel well. However, maximizing the benefits and experience of your detox is determined by the details of design – or planning, preparation and personalization.

I often recommend to clients that they do a detox once or twice a year, usually in the spring and again in the fall. Why? Toxins build up in the body day by day through what you consume, breathe in and absorb. That may include processed food, what you drink (sodas, diet drinks, alcohol), smoking, skin care products, soaps, make-up, prescriptions and over the counter medications, cleaning products, and simply the air we breathe. These toxins negatively impact the health and function of our systems and hormones at the cellular level. If you’re going to try a detox, let’s set you up with four details to design a successful detox.

Healthy Lifestyle = Healthy Body: REALLY?

Excerpt:
I intend to make "Detox Your Home" the "Don't Drink & Drive" of the 21st Century.
If we all partake in the "Detox Your Home" consciousness raising, flip the switch, game changing effort, we can not only effectively help to reduce our risk of cancers as well as many other auto-immune and pulmonary diseases, BUT we can also dictate manufacturing trends through good old fashioned all American consumerism and the power of purchase! Because at the end of the day, manufacturers don't want to kill us, they simply want to sell us; and they will sell us whatever we are willing to buy.

But where does one begin, you may be wondering? It seems overwhelming, daunting and maybe you just want to scream, "Stop the world, I want to get off!"

Well here's when being a sitcom writer comes in handy, where short and sweet is the name of the game. So start with this...

Top 4 Liver Detox Foods

Excerpt:
Every branch of natural healthcare seems to have its own perspective on how to help detoxify the liver. Ranging from juice fasts to herbal supplements to saunas to enemas, there is more than one route for helping the liver eliminate toxins from the body. Although several different approaches can be beneficial to the liver’s well-being, it is easy to overlook the fact that certain everyday foods aid in liver detoxification.

The practice of detoxifying the body to rid it of unhealthy toxins has been around for centuries. Technically, toxins are anything that can potentially harm the body, including waste products that result from normal cell activity, such as ammonia, lactic acid and homocysteine, and human-made toxins that we are exposed to in our environment, food, and water. The liver is the body’s first line of defense against toxins, functioning as a filter in preventing toxic substances from accumulating in the blood stream. Unfortunately, a sluggish liver impairs this organ’s vital cleansing function – causing a backup of toxins, a potentially harmful situation.

The Best Colon-Cleansing Diet

Excerpt:
If you experience constipation, bladder and kidney infections, vaginal yeast infections, bad breath, body odour, abdominal cramps, or toe- and fingernail fungus, your colon may be calling for a cleanse.

Some say disease begins in the colon. In fact, the colon is the third most common site for cancer–and colon cancer is the second-leading cause of cancer death among Canadians. The colon, or large intestine, is our fueling station as well as our waste management system. Here, in the last five feet of intestinal tract, toxins can take two courses. A clean, healthy colon efficiently eliminates toxins. A clogged, unhealthy colon allows toxins to back up into the liver and bloodstream, polluting the entire system.

The 28-Day, No Alcohol, Gluten-Free, Headache, Dizzy, Colon Cleansing, No Caffeine, Anti-Inflammatory, No Soy, Detox

Excerpt:
I’m in Starbucks and up to my nostrils in latte froth. I’ve signed up for the Danville-based 28 Days to Health Weight Loss and Performance Cleanse, and Brandi Geiger, the program’s bubbly detox leader, is sitting across from me, sipping herbal tea and telling me what my life will taste like for the next month. “No gluten, no dairy, no caffeine, no soy, no sugar, no processed foods, and no alcohol,” says Geiger. “They’re inflammatory foods. Our bodies don’t have the enzymes to break them down and absorb the proteins ... So, are you excited?”

I’m not so much excited as horrified. I like the idea of cleansing my body, but frankly, what am I going to eat for the next four weeks? To appreciate the real scope of cruelty here, it should be noted that I love a buttery croissant for breakfast, I have a penchant for thickly grated parmesan, I drink too much red wine, and I harbor a fondness for Lunardi’s cheesecake. This is going to be the mother of all diets. “It’s not a diet,” says Geiger, who has a master’s degree in exercise science and a background in nutrition. “It’s a lifestyle change. The purpose of this program is not to starve you. You learn about nutrition, the pH of foods, the glycemic index, and how different foods affect your body. It’s about empowering people to take control of their health.”

10 Simple Ways to Detox

Excerpt:
If you consume the majority of your food out of a box or plastic package, then you are allowing for chemicals to leach onto the food and into your body. While you contaminate the environment by choosing foods in packaging, you also contaminate your body: plastic containers alone leach “leftover monomer building blocks,” bisphenol A (BPA), and structural chemicals, among others. These chemicals can be carcinogenic, but they can be avoided by consuming whole foods rather than packaged foods. Instead of buying packaged apple slices, buy whole organic apples. Instead of buying canned green beans, buy fresh. If you minimize your purchasing of packaged foods, you will also minimize the amount of dangerous food additives you consume, and you won’t contribute so much to the landfill.

The Sugar Detox Diet

Excerpt:
I have a serious sugar problem and I will explain that more in another post in a few days.  I really need to break both the sugar addiction and the snacking habit that lead to the sugar addiction.  The Maker’s Diet beings with a VERY strict 14 day phase 1 intended to break sugar and wheat addictions and balance the hormones in the body.   We are following the food restrictions, except for the addition of pork.  (Again, something I’ll address in another post).  So for the first 14 days of October we are eating meat, chicken, fish, eggs, most vegetables, berries (no other fruit), healthy fats, a few nuts, and lentils.  No sugar, no wheat, no beans, and no caffeine.  Its pretty extreme. (Raw cow’s milk is allowed, but we are skipping that due to food allergies. We will probably have a little bit of goat’s milk cheese during phase 1).

Feeling Toxic? Four Tips For a Fall Detox

Excerpt:
Clear out your bathroom: Believe it or not, a good detox should start with your environment since that is where your toxins are and the bathroom is the biggest culprit. Think of all the products we put on our skin, and imagine how the daily absorption of these chemicals adds up over a lifetime. This long-term exposure is a definite hormonal and health concern. Your cleansing products should be free of sodium lauryl sulphate, a harsh detergent present in shampoos and cleansers. The products you use on your body or face should be free of methylparabens, propylparabens, formaldehyde, imidazolidinyl urea, methylisothiazolinone, propylene glycol, paraffin, isopropyl alcohol, and sodium lauryl sulphate. You should know that most perfumed products contain many of these harmful chemicals, but the ingredients are not identified on the label. Therefore, look for products that contain natural oils and fragrances. Take a look through your cosmetics from shampoo to hair gel to eye make-up remover -- you may be surprised to find many of these not-so-friendly ingredients.

We are exposed to toxins every day and a build-up can affect our neurological, immune and endocrine (hormone) systems. The most common offenders are air pollution, food additives, pesticides, alcohol, cigarette smoke and heavy metals.

When large amounts of toxins are consumed over a long period of time, health issues arise. By following a detox diet you reduce the toxic load and enable the body to function more efficiently. Detoxing simply requires a little discipline and a fridge full of nourishing foods.

This plan consists of a preparation week followed by two full weeks of detoxing.

An Ayurvedic Detox Nectar

For a deep cleanse to the body, you can try a mono diet of mung bean soup perhaps after a few days of eating a light vegetarian diet to prepare your body gently. Mung beans are available from health food shops, Indian grocers and sometimes supermarkets. Try and get organic if you can and buy in bulk to reduce costs (though you will save money on this diet, as well as time normally spend preparing food!) They come in whole green variety, split green or split yellow. The whole green is most nutritious.

The Real Reason Diets Don’t Work

Excerpt:
A quick search for weight loss books on Amazon brings up 9,319 results, including Wheatbelly, the Paleo Diet and the Lemon Detox Diet. If those diets actually worked, would we continually want new ones?

The fact of the matter is that diets are designed to fail you. Of all the dieters worldwide, only 1 in every 20 will see it work for them over the long-run. 95 percent of dieters are left feeling frustrated and miserable, back to where they started (if not worse off). Is it that 95 percent of us lack the willpower or discipline to simply stick to a change in eating habits? Or is there more to it than meets the eye–something more scientific?

The Master Cleanse

Excerpt:
The following program –The Master Cleanse– has been tested and approved since 1940 all around the world and is constantly reported as the most successful diet of its type. As the originator of this superior diet once stated: “I humbly and yet proudly offer it to you, confidant that you will receive vigorous good health from its use”

The Master Cleanse is a Juice Fast. It’s a liquid diet that provides a healthy amount of calories and nutrients specifically suited for weight loss and cleansing, all while resting the digestive system and allowing the body to heal naturally.

Stanley Burroughs - Author of the book “The Master Cleanser“, continues to state: “This diet will prove that no one needs to live with their diseases. A lifetime of freedom from disease can become a reality. The Lemonade diet has successfully and consistently demonstrated its eliminating and building ability.”

Does A Good Sweat Remove Toxins From Your Body?

Excerpt:
The idea that a workout, product, drink or diet can rid your body of toxins is false, despite claims suggesting otherwise. In reality, any detoxing that needs doing is accomplished by the liver and kidneys.  Be it a good sweat, spicy meal or product found at your local pharmacy, none are more effective at removing toxins than the system the body already has in place.

To drive the point home, and to educate consumers on the myriad of products that claim to detox, a U.K. group, The Voice of Young Science, has created a pamphlet to debunk some of the myths related to detoxing.

Hooked On The White Stuff? It’s Time to Sugar Detox

Excerpt:
When life gets hard help is often at hand in the form of chocolate and other sweet treats.
But the mantra “stressed is desserts spelt backwards” takes on a whole new meaning with the news that when we turn to sugar to alleviate stress we are actually making things a whole lot worse.

In fact consuming too much of the sweet stuff not only causes us to feel more wired and worked up, it can also contribute to obesity, diabetes and heart problems.

The problem with sugar is it gives us a natural high by stimulating the brain to release the feel-good chemical serotonin.

But the sugar in your system also turns to glucose in the bloodstream causing the body to convert it into energy in the form of insulin. This in turn lowers your blood sugar level which can result in you feeling shaky, faint and crucially craving more sugar.

The Candida Cleanse

Candidiasis has become a chronic, modern-day medical dilemma that seems to be increasing rapidly. The key to optimal vitality is to permanently eliminate Candida yeast or fungal infection within the body. Candida must be destroyed in the digestive system first and then in the blood, tissues and internal organs.

Everyone has small amounts of yeasts and other negative microorganisms in the intestinal area which are basically harmless. However, when the immune system and other defense capabilities are compromised or biologically harmed, these microorganisms can multiply very quickly and will interfere with digestion and elimination. When this overgrowth becomes chronic or excessive, its contribution to the problems of poor health and disease can be overwhelming, Yeast can become an aggressive fungus. It multiplies very rapidly, can assume long periods of dormancy and when necessary, becomes cannibalistic.
